About Bridge Cottage:
Converted from a traditional stone pole barn, once a cider store, into a very pleasing and attractive home. Beautifully furnished and equipped, the cottage is situated in the quiet hamlet of Higher Yalberton between the villages of Collaton-St-Mary and Stoke Gabriel about 2 miles from the sea. Stoke Gabriel is a pretty village set in a wooded valley on the banks of the River Dart, giving access to superb sailing grounds for boating enthusiasts, with Dittisham and Dartmouth a ferry-ride away. In the other direction are the golden beaches of the English Riviera (2 miles) with Torquay, Paignton and Brixham offering excellent shopping, restaurants, a theatre and lots more.
Front door into smart, spacious and welcoming living room elegantly furnished with a leather sofa and chairs, flat screen Freeview, digital TV with DVD, stereo radio/CD player and featuring handsome original stone pillars and a decorative fireplace. The fine oak floor has under-floor heating and the dining area has a table to seat 5. A door from this room opens to a cloaks hanging area and shower room with electric corner shower, basin and WC. The living room extends into a smart, very well equipped kitchen fitted with attractive white units with a gas hob, built-in electric oven, larder fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and Belfast sink. Access from here to the enclosed rear patio. Carpeted stairs lead to the landing and the bedrooms that all feature exposed roof beams and are furnished in pine. Double bedroom with 4ft 6in bed. Twin bedroom with 3ft beds. Single room with 3ft bed. Bathroom with corner bath, hand shower, basin and wc.
The cottage has an enclosed gravel front garden with a path to the front door. From the kitchen there is an enclosed patio area provided with table and chairs, a secluded sun trap with views across the stream that borders the rear of the terrace. Wooden gates from here open to the side of the cottage to the parking area.
