The country style kitchen/breakfast room has a wooden beamed ceiling and natural stone floor. Additionally the upstairs bedroom has a skylight in the pitched ceiling, which reveals the overhead night stars.

About Old Tavistock Railway Station:
Old Tavistock Railway Station is a Grade II listed Victorian building. Throughout 2007 and 2008 the Old Station was restored and converted to provide three self-catering holiday homes. The renovation has been completed to five star standards and is available for weekly bookings from May 2008.
The Station's former glory of 1890 can be seen and felt throughout the restored property. Although trains no longer pass through the station, the splendour and atmosphere is reminiscent of those earlier times. The Station now offers sumptuous holiday accommodation which remains Victorian in its design, yet with a complementary contemporary flair. Consideration for guests comfort within the accommodation and their enjoyment of the old station has been intrinsic in the design and décor.
The three individually designed holiday homes have 2/3 bedrooms and are within enclosed landscaped grounds. The houses are exquisitely furnished and feature references to the station's past. Each house is unique in its style, in part due to the retention of original station features, such as the ticket office panelling, bread oven, fireplaces, sash windows and their coloured glass. The luxurious self-contained accommodation is suitable for couples, friends and family, independent travellers and train enthusiasts alike.
The Station is perfectly positioned and provides panoramic views across Tavistock town and picturesque Dartmoor. It is a calm oasis offering something for everyone - walking and hiking, off-road biking, cycle routes, enticing restaurants, bars and cafés, independent shops and regular markets. The scenery surrounding the Station offers an ideal backdrop for photographers and artists. Horse riding, water sports, golf, nature reserves and the award winning beaches of Devon and Cornwall are a short drive away. Many National Trust and English Heritage properties are nearby and the towns and cities of Plymouth, Exeter and Torquay are within an hour drive.
For a truly unique holiday experience, in an exclusive retreat, a historic location, surrounded by the countryside yet with all the facilities of the town, Old Tavistock Railway Station provides all a Dartmoor holidaymaker could be looking for.
